Meet Kate, a gorgeous mama to be who found Blue Sugar Photography on a google search and wasn’t sure she wanted to do maternity photos until she found our portfolio! I was excited to have the opportunity to show her how she wouldn’t regret making the decision to capture this milestone with us.

She came in to our home studio just a few weeks before her session to do a gown fitting and chose two of our most popular styles for her session from our exclusive maternity gown client closet.

This Wine Kalessa maternity photo shoot gown is our most requested dress for maternity sessions. And it’s no wonder – the peek-a-boo flutter sleeves show just enough while the full slip bottom offers the coverage most modest mamas desire.

We stuck around our beautiful little town of Lovettsville, VA to capture these special maternity portraits.

Once we were ready to include dad-to-be in the photos, we did a quick outfit change to this lovely steel blue Miriam dress from Blue Sugar Photography’s client closet. This is another popular style from our collection with an off the shoulder top and flowy skirt bottom accentuating all of mama’s curves in just the right way.

The couple also wanted to include their pup so we were sure to get her in a few of the photos to be remembered as their first baby!

As the sun started setting, we got that luscious golden light that we were after making for the perfect end to our Virginia maternity photo shoot.
